EVENT - ‘Know Your Food, Know Your Farmer’
|
|
The third ‘Know Your Food, Know Your Farmer’ evening is at Grazed and Grown Farm on the 13th April.
What's it about and why are we doing it?
It's quite simple really, we believe the most important part of farming is the connection between the Soil, Farmer and Eater. Ifwe're to be honest, it's probably the only thing that has kept us going all these years. The trouble has always been trying to find the time and spare energy to hold these events we so desire.
We would like you to join us for a very casual night of farmer interviews and conversations between people who care deeply about food and farming. The afternoon/night will consist of a farm walk, dinner around campfires and interviews with local farmers to dig a little deeper into the challenges and rewards of local organic and regenerative farming.
This event will be the third of what we are hoping will be many more across the Mid North Coast, our desire is to rotate these dinner events from one farm to another throughout the changing seasons. The event will morph and develop over time into whatever it is to become, but our priority is to have a good time, enjoy good food, good conversations, have a laugh and maybe even a dance for those keen to kick up their heels!
Ourselves and the many farming families will be at this event, we all look forward to meeting the people who eat our food, to strengthen our bonds and continue to grow our community.
What do you need to bring?
As mentioned, it will be a Potluck dinner, which is to say everyone attending is required to bring a meal either for themselves or to share with others. We do this a lot at farming events and it never seizes to blow your mind. A table is laid out with everyone's home cooked meals for all to enjoy. This not only keeps the ticket prices really affordable so all can attend regardless of their current circumstances, but also reduces the amount of organisation and coordination that usually kills these events from happening in the first place.
So bring something to eat, something to drink and we will look after the rest!
